Invitation letter from the ESP President Lesley E. Rhodes
On behalf of the ESP Executive Committee and the Congress Organizing Committee, I cordially invite you to attend the 16th Congress of the European Society for Photobiology, which will be held over 4 days in Aveiro (Portugal), from the evening of Monday 31st August to the evening of Friday 4th September 2015.
ESP Congresses constitute an important forum for dissemination of advanced knowledge and technological development in photobiological fields of research. They provide for excellence in scientific discussions, exchange of new ideas and for establishing collaborations for future research. Assisted by the contemporary proposals of the ESP Scientific Advisory Board, a programme of sessions has been crafted on wide-ranging topics covering the major streams of photobiological sciences and their applications.
In ESP Congress 2015 we have an expanded number and range of keynote lectures, in view of their attractiveness and success in delivering leading-edge topics. Further attractions include the Young Investigator Awardee talk, 27 symposia involving high profile and ascending invited speakers, open oral presentations and lively poster sessions. We encourage the active participation of young scientists in the congress programme and promote an active fellowship scheme for the Congress.
Aveiro, sometimes known as “the Venice of Portugal,” provides a beautiful location for the Congress, as well as an exceptional climate in September. It is also an economical place to stay. The Congress venue is the University of Aveiro, located around 15 minutes’ walk from the centre of Aveiro, and surrounded by salt flats and lagoons. Aveiro has regular high-speed train connections to the international airports in Lisbon and Oporto.
We in advance would like to thank our sponsors, whose full recognition of their contributions will be made at the meeting, in Congress literature and on our website.
I look forward to welcoming you in Aveiro!
The 2015 ESP Congress is listed in the Event Programme of the International Year of Light
